hey everybody uh this is will castron with solar plus llc here in atlanta georgia i'm just going to run you through the generac power cell system both the inverter and the battery we'll get to the battery in a second so this right here is a 7.6 generac power cell inverter is an islanding inverter that works on 120 240. it is a string inverter that is a dc coupled with the battery system and we can open up right here so here we have uh the dc bus where both the solar and batteries are connected and coupled together and then we've got the generac power core and this is how the dc voltage gets inverted and then we have our protected loads panel where we have our automatic transfer switch backing up a whole house backup generic power cell inverter can support up to 15 kw of solar and two fully packed uh generic power cell uh batteries that amount to around 33 kwh kilowatt hours of storage quite a big heavy hitter all right we're back here with the power cell um battery storage system this has the potential of starting out with only three 2.86 kwh battery modules but it can be expanded to 6 units for a total of 17.1 kwh it's pretty impressive that's why we really like recommending it because you can start test add a battery out of battery out of battery as you like to so let's open it up super easy disassembly so here we have we have the battery units themselves there are six of them you can only see three but they're stacked double and they're all um they're all in series so they're all one big unit they come in here to the transfer uh switch and charge controller and it gets um the the voltage gets dumbed down to 480 and gets sent to the inverter so that it is dc coupled with the solar that's kind of like the the secret sauce to the generac is the dc coupling to continue with the explanation um up top we also have this fan unit uh the batteries are supposed to stay at around 76 uh fahrenheit and so you know we are in an attic space right now so when the temperature does get a little hotter these fans just kick right in and lower the temperature we have two twin panasonic units so this generac uses the panasonic units the 2.86 kwh units and they all work in tandem and so as you see you know you see the three but if you wanted you could start with only three you can expand all the way to six like you have here or if you really wanted to max out your generic system you could buy two cabinets and then fully load them so you have a total of 34 kwh of storage along with the potential of 15 kw on the roof ...
